Calm Corner emerged from my personal journey following a diagnosis of Panic and Anxiety Disorder in 2023. Faced with the overwhelming weight of this diagnosis, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, investing in therapy and immersing myself in cognitive-behavioral therapy literature. Through this process, I encountered a profound insight from my therapist: the realization that while there may not be a definitive endpoint to the disorder, the focus shifts towards cultivating coping mechanisms, strategies, and support networks to mitigate the impact of panic attacks and anxiety symptoms. It became clear that living alongside the disorder, acknowledging its presence without allowing it to define one’s entire existence, was paramount.
Recognizing a gap in the support landscape for individuals navigating similar challenges, I sought to create a community where individuals could find solace, understanding, and shared experiences. Calm Corner became a platform where panic pals and anxiety allies could convene, free from judgment, to discuss the nuances of daily life with these conditions. Through open dialogue, resource sharing, and the exchange of tried-and-tested coping mechanisms, our aim is to foster a sense of belonging and empowerment.
